Some young virgins in Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State were initiated into womanhood during the famous Iria ceremony in Ogu town 

 

The ceremony was held with many bystanders watching in extreme excitement on Saturday, December 2, 2023. 

 

The Iria ceremony of the Wakirike people is an event held to officially welcome young virgins into womanhood.
