Popular social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been released from detention after spending nine days in police custody.

The popular activist regained his freedom in the late hours of Sunday.


VeryDarkMan’s detention sparked widespread concern and outcry among his followers and fellow activists, raising questions about freedom of speech and online expression in Nigeria.

The activist was arrested by the police following claims that they had received multiple petitions against his online activities.
