The FBI are set to widen their investigation into P Diddy by potentially reopening a case involving the rapper and Jennifer Lopez in a shooting at a New York nightclub.

Diddy - real name Sean Combs - was arrested along with Lopez, who was his girlfriend at the time, back in 1999.

His bodyguard Anthony "Wolf" Jones and rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow were also detained by police detectives following a shooting inside a Times Square club that saw three bystanders wounded.

Combs and Lopez were taken to Midtown North precinct station where Lopez, who was 30 at the time, was seen cuffed in "the cage" by cops.

In the subsequent trial in 2001, Combs and Jones were freed while Barrow, then 21, was convicted on assault and gun possession charges and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

But the case could be reopened after a lawsuit brought forward by Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones against Combs claimed the 54-year-old was often "bragging about bribing witnesses, and jurors in the criminal case concerning the 1999 NYC nightclub shooting with Shyne."

Two law enforcement sources have been quoted telling the outlet that the infamous shooting and trial could possibly be re-investigated as part of the federal probe into Combs.

It comes after Homeland Security agents swarmed Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami on Monday in raids, which law enforcement sources sources said were prompted by Jones' sex-trafficking allegations, according to the New York Post.

The federal agents stormed into Diddy's homes one month after he filed the lawsuit, claiming the music mogul repeatedly sexually assaulted him from September 2022 to November 2023 while he was a producer and videographer for the billionaire.

Jones claims Combs groped his genitals, groomed him into having sex and forcing him to procure sex workers, strippers and drugs while he worked under him.

New York criminal defense attorney Michael Discioarro, who is familiar with the case, said the police are gathering evidence to present against Combs and are speaking with several witnesses.
