President Tinubu needs to put together a Nigerian Investment Ambassadors Group makeup of national icons with a mandate to attract investors 


Its members should include the likes of:

[3] Chimamanda Adichie

[4] Stanley Nwabali

[5] Victor Osimhen

[6] Asisat Oshoala

[7] Michelle Alozie

[8] Tiwa Savage

[9] Burna Boy

[10] Davido


Their brief should be very simple:


[1] Attract about $50bn a year in foreign direct investment 

[2] Woo local investors to create at least 5m jobs a year 

[3] Wage a war against unproductive dead capital that is all over Nigeria 

[4] Attract Islamic finance 

[5] Meet with our evangelical churches and get them to invest their billions in the economy 

[6] Try and lift national morale 

[7] Entertain security units doing dangerous jobs in a bid to lift their spirits 

[8] Visit areas that have been made secure to convince visitors that they are safe 

[9] Make tourists appeal to international visitors in a bid to boost the sector 

[10] Act as the poster boys and girls for the power industry as it seeks to get its act together
