Bidemi Alaran didn't just slide into his befitting 60th anniversary with a night of cocktails, great cuisine, or intimidating dance steps. He, however, chose to mark the special day with heartfelt thanks to his Maker.

It was indeed a spectacular time for families and friends of Alaran, who came out in massive numbers on a weekday to celebrate the iconic Master of Ceremony, who turned 60 recently.

For one who has hosted most of the biggest gatherings in the UK and other parts of the world, the multi-talented artiste and showbiz maestro's sixth decades celebration turned out to be a festival of thanks.

According to Alaran: " All I am and all I have achieved can only be through God.  I am grateful and happy for this milestone and pray for many more by God's Grace.

"I’m privileged to experience two worlds, and that has changed my mentality. My dad died one month short of 60, and that was painful, but God has compensated me with a long life in good health and a sound mind. The Alaran name and brand are global. I thank God and all my fans and clients," he said.

During the event, excited and thankful family members and friends gave testaments of what they thought about the celebrant.

Encomiums poured in from various quarters as many of the people the celebrant had touched in one way or the other told amazing tales of how he had affected their lives.

In all, Alaran was moved to tears.

A lot of people agreed that the turnout itself was a testament to what an incredible person Alaran is.
