Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio was involved in the abuse of women during his tenure as governor of Akwa Ibom State.

This accusation comes in light of recent sexual harassment allegations made against Akpabio by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a recent interview with journalist Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie on the program "Untold Stories," Atiku was asked if there were reports of corruption tied to Akpabio's governorship.

He responded, “Yes. Not only was he corrupt, but he also had a history of abusing women.”

As for the 2027 elections, Atiku was questioned on whether he plans to run for president again and who might lead any coalition aimed at unseating the current government.

He replied, “In 2014, we had a similar merger with several candidates contesting. We all ran for president, and one emerged, and we all supported him. Nigeria has never been in greater need of credible leadership than now.”

When asked about the swift approval of the state of emergency by the National Assembly, Atiku stated, “No. The leadership is corrupt, and I have no apologies for saying that. They could do anything. The Senate President is known for such behavior, even during his time as governor.”
