Canadian Senator Salma Ataullahjan has voiced her support for Senator Natasha Akpoti amid serious sexual harassment allegations.
The Nigerian Senate has recently imposed a six-month suspension on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her accusations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. This decision, announced on Thursday, was based on findings from the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, which identified several violations of Senate regulations.
In light of these allegations, Senator Ataullahjan has publicly stood by Akpoti, expressing her encouragement and solidarity.
“Stay strong, Natasha. Your courage in speaking out against sexual harassment serves as a compelling reminder that we must all advocate for a safer and more respectful world for everyone. #JusticeForNatasha,” wrote the Canadian lawmaker.
