Igbo Ambassadors UK Appoints Amb. (Dr) Obinna Okorie to Spearhead South East Economic Blueprint

In a major push to drive economic transformation in Nigeria’s South East, Igbo Ambassadors UK has named Amb. (Dr) Obinna Okorie as Chairman of the South East "The Good News" Economic Blueprint Committee. The initiative aims to channel diaspora expertise and investments into unlocking the region’s economic potential.

A respected entrepreneur and technocrat, Amb. (Dr) Okorie brings a wealth of experience to the role. He currently serves as Secretary of the Abia State Diaspora Chamber of Commerce and is the CEO of several companies, including Bayview Healthcare Ltd, Cityrock Global UK Ltd, Stepping Stones Children and Young People Services UK Ltd, and Bayview Healthcare Ireland. Under his leadership, the committee is expected to roll out strategic policies designed to boost development and long-term prosperity for Ndi Igbo.

Supporting him in this mission is Amb. Izundu Omenukwar, a leading IT Network Security Consultant and Managing Director of Izcon Technology Ltd, who has been appointed Committee Secretary. The high-powered committee also includes:

At the appointment ceremony, Amb. (Dr) Ugochukwu Morah, President of Igbo Ambassadors UK, described the initiative as a defining moment in Ndi Igbo’s economic history. He urged the committee to leverage their expertise to drive impactful and sustainable change, calling it a unique opportunity to mobilize diaspora resources for regional growth.

In his acceptance speech, Amb. (Dr) Okorie pledged his full commitment to the mission and called on Ndi Igbo worldwide to support the initiative. He also announced plans to launch a diaspora consultation series, ensuring widespread input and collaboration in shaping the blueprint.
