Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has shared her perspective on the heated exchange she had with Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi at the Senate chambers on Tuesday, March 25.
The altercation occurred during a public hearing regarding the sexual harassment allegations that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. According to Ezekwesili, when she and other supporters of Senator Natasha attended the hearing, they were dismissed by some of the Senators, who implied that they were not serious about the matter.
During the hearing, just as Nwaebonyi was about to speak, Ezekwesili felt compelled to tell him to "Shut up." This prompted the Senator to respond harshly, resulting in an exchange of insults between the two.
