Police in the US have identified and released photos of two men they are searching for in connection with the tragic shooting of American rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter.
Forest Hill Police Chief David Hernandez announced at a press conference that two capital murder warrants have been secured for Adonis Robinson, 24, a registered sex offender, and Jakobie Russell, 21, in connection with the shooting.
“They’re scared, they’re cowards, they’re hiding,” Hernandez stated regarding the suspects. “We ask the public, please, if you know where they are, let us know.”
Rapper Ronnie "LilRonnie" Sibley, known as G$ Lil Ronnie, and his daughter, R'mani Sibley, were identified by Ronnie's aunt as the victims of the shooting, which occurred Monday at Slappy's Express car wash located on Forest Hill Drive.
Authorities discovered the victims' vehicle with bullet holes in the windshield and attempted life-saving measures, but both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Forest Hill Police Department's preliminary investigation indicated that two suspects exited a white four-door Kia, approached the victims' car, and opened fire. The suspects were described as two Black men wearing blue jeans and gray sweaters.
The investigation is being led by the Texas Rangers, with police stating that they are still working to identify a motive for the shooting.
“The safety of the general public is our first concern,” said Forest Hill Mayor Stephanie Boardingham. “We are confident the employees acted quickly in this incident.”
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and the community because everyone was affected,” she added.
This fatal shooting at the car wash marks the third major incident involving gunfire for the Forest Hill Police Department this year. Detectives are also investigating the shooting death of a woman killed last week by a stray bullet while in her backyard, as well as a shooting at a dealership where one person was arrested.
