Mrs. Shimite Bello Love (née Nwakalo), Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, has tragically passed away under circumstances that have sparked widespread suspicion and concern.

Popularly known as Madam Sabificate, Shimite reportedly died from suspected poisoning on Easter Sunday. According to family sources who spoke to SaharaReporters, her husband, Pastor David Favour Love, has been taken into police custody following allegations that he may have poisoned her. Eyewitnesses say she was found foaming at the mouth before she was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in Asaba, where she was declared dead on arrival.

The late adviser, a well-known entrepreneur and advocate for youth and women empowerment, had contested for the Oshimili North constituency seat during the 2023 Delta State House of Assembly PDP primaries. She previously served as the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency under former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. She was also the Group President/CEO of the Quintessential Group, a conglomerate encompassing NGOs, social enterprises, and firms in agriculture and solid minerals.

A family member who requested anonymity expressed shock at her sudden death, noting that she had spoken with Shimite just a day earlier. “She was fine on Saturday. We talked for over an hour about her recent engagements. I sent her Easter messages on Sunday, but she didn’t respond which was unlike her.”

Concerns reportedly escalated when Shimite’s maid contacted her elder brother, worried that the husband had locked her inside the house all day. When the brother arrived, he allegedly found Shimite unconscious, with foam around her mouth. She was immediately taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The police were contacted and arrested Pastor David at the scene.

Family members have since alleged that Shimite’s husband had increasingly isolated her from loved ones and exerted tight control over her life. “He stopped her from seeing family, trailed her everywhere, and even changed ownership of her properties to his name,” a relative claimed. “She was no longer herself. We believe she was under spiritual manipulation or control.”

“She kept saying, ‘Don’t worry, my husband is a pastor my spiritual father. He sees everything.’ It’s heartbreaking. No woman in her right senses would tolerate that level of control.”

Sources close to the family described Pastor David as possessive and envious of Shimite’s influence and success. “He had nothing before he met her. It’s sad to say, but it feels like he came into her life to drain her.”

As of press time, efforts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, were unsuccessful, as his mobile line was unreachable.

Meanwhile, Shimite’s remains have been deposited in the mortuary while police investigations continue.
