Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has voiced her displeasure over the inconsistent power supply under the new Band A electricity tariff, despite paying premium rates.
Taking to social media, Henshaw did not hold back, describing the situation as a “huge FRAUD.” She lamented that although Band A customers are promised at least 20 hours of electricity daily, she barely receives even a fraction of that.
We’re supposed to be getting over 20 hours of electricity. Some days, if I get two hours, that’s considered a good day, she wrote.
The actress slammed the electricity distribution companies for charging exorbitant fees while delivering substandard service, questioning the true value of the Band A classification.
In a follow-up post, Henshaw went further, comparing the entire electricity tariff structure to a Ponzi scheme, even calling it a “bigger fraud” than the recently crashed CBEX investment platform.
Her outburst echoes the growing frustration among Nigerians who have been placed on Band A and are now grappling with higher costs despite little to no improvement in service delivery.
