Popular activist VeryDarkman has fired back after being given a seven-day ultimatum to apologize for criticizing Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s trip to the Vatican for the Pope’s funeral.

Earlier reports revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had issued a letter demanding an apology from VeryDarkman, following his condemnation of Akpabio’s international trip while violent crises continued to claim lives at home.

Addressing the situation, VeryDarkman began by offering an apology  but not to political leaders. Instead, he directed his apology to the victims of herdsmen attacks across various Nigerian communities.

He emphasized that if the leaders he described as “irresponsible” refuse to acknowledge the suffering of the people, he would step up and do it himself.

In a bold counter-move, VeryDarkman issued his own seven-day ultimatum to the government, demanding immediate action to end the ongoing violence by herdsmen in states like Benue, Jos, and Enugu.

He said in part:

“First of all, I want to apologize to the people of Benue, Jos, Kwara, Enugu, Ogun, and Edo states  to all those who have been victims of insurgency and insecurity in Nigeria due to these irresponsible leaders. Leaders with misplaced priorities who abandon their dying citizens in farmlands to travel for the funeral of people who didn’t even know them when alive, all in the name of political movements.

Since these irresponsible leaders won’t apologize, I will do it on their behalf. People are dying; hundreds are being killed, and instead of acting, you’re giving me a seven-day ultimatum.

I now give you seven days to clamp down on the herdsmen attacks ongoing in Benue, Jos, and Enugu.”
