Access Bank has responded to reports concerning a former employee, Stephen Ejezie, who was allegedly caught secretly recording female colleagues in the restroom at the bank’s contact centre in Lagos.

According to multiple accounts, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, when Ejezie, then serving as a Quality Assurance Specialist, was reportedly caught filming a female colleague in the women’s restroom. Investigations suggest he may have planted a hidden camera to capture staff while they were bathing or changing.

In a statement released on Sunday, the bank confirmed that it is cooperating fully with authorities and reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on any form of harassment or invasion of privacy.

Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating on social media regarding an alleged offence involving a former Contact Centre Agent,” the statement read.

The matter has been handed over to the appropriate authorities, who are conducting an investigation. We are fully cooperating with them in this process.”

Access Bank added that it is actively engaging with affected employees to ensure they receive all necessary support and counselling during this time.

At Access Bank, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and any form of privacy violation. The safety, dignity, and well-being of our employees and customers remain our top priority.”

The bank further urged the public to rely solely on information from its official communication channels and thanked stakeholders for their concern and support.
