Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the eldest son of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, made his international debut for Portugal’s U-15 national team on Tuesday, May 13, helping the squad to a 4–1 win over Japan.
The 14-year-old forward, who currently plays in Al Nassr’s youth academy, was subbed on in the 54th minute with Portugal already ahead 3–0, courtesy of a first-half hat trick by Braga’s Rafael Cabral.
Proud dad Cristiano Ronaldo marked the milestone with a heartfelt post on social media:
“Congratulations on your Portugal debut, son. Very proud of you.”
The game marked Portugal’s opening fixture in the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament, currently underway in Croatia. The team is set to face Greece on Wednesday and England on Friday, before wrapping up the group stage on Sunday against an opponent yet to be confirmed.
