Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has joined the growing call for the release of embattled social media activist VeryDarkMan, despite their past disagreements.

Taking to her Instagram page, Etiko acknowledged their previous conflict particularly when the activist publicly criticized her over the purchase of her car. However, she chose to look beyond their personal history and highlighted his significant contributions to society.

Etiko praised VeryDarkMan for his bravery, honesty, and consistent advocacy for the underprivileged. She emphasized that few young Nigerians have shown the same courage in speaking truth to power and giving back to their communities.

“I'm posting this for a reason, fam!” she wrote.
“This young man has done a lot many of us can't. Yes, he dragged me when I bought my car, but looking at the impact he has made standing for the truth, speaking for those in need, and giving back massively to society I believe he deserves our support.
Let’s look into this and free him. His voice has done an amazing job for so many.”

Etiko’s statement has been met with praise across social media, with many commending her maturity and sense of justice.
