A fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning at a £2 million property in northwest London linked to UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. The street has since been cordoned off as authorities investigate the incident.
According to Mail Online, emergency crews rushed to the address shortly after 1:11 a.m., with the London Fire Brigade confirming that the blaze affecting the front entrance was brought under control by 1:33 a.m.
It is believed the property is currently rented out by the Prime Minister.
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. A spokesperson said:
“Officers attended the scene. Damage was caused to the property's entrance, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.”
Police cordons remain in place as enquiries continue. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting CAD 441/12 May.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson added:
“The Brigade was called at 01:11 and the fire was under control by 01:33. Two fire engines from Kentish Town Fire Station responded.”
The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
News of the fire comes on the same day Prime Minister Starmer unveiled the Government’s latest crackdown on illegal immigration. Speaking at a press conference, he warned that Britain risks becoming an “island of strangers” without urgent reforms.
