Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay is signaling a new chapter in her life, using fashion and presence to reflect her journey of transformation.

During an interview with Saturday Beats at the 17th Headies Awards, Annie explained the significance behind her vibrant green ensemble, describing it as a symbol of renewal and growth.

“I feel amazing,” she said, glowing with positivity. “I was styled by Medlin Boss, and of course, I’m wearing Ankara. I love green, green is a new beginning, and the land is green.”

When asked if her outfit reflected her personal journey, she reaffirmed: “Well, green is a new beginning, and the land is green.”

The actress turned heads in a bold Ankara two-piece, complemented by a striking green jacket  a look that not only made a fashion statement but also carried deep personal symbolism.

While presenting the award for “Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year,” Annie had a brief but telling slip-up on stage: “Annie Idi… Oh sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” The crowd responded with cheers, interpreting the moment as a light-hearted nod to her new status and evolving self-identity.

Earlier this year, on January 26, 2025, her estranged husband, music icon 2Baba, publicly announced their separation after nearly 12 years of marriage. He later proposed to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

Despite the very public nature of the split, Annie has chosen a path of quiet resilience, focusing on personal healing and self-discovery. She is currently preparing to host a wellness retreat in Dubai titled “Annie’s Journey,” which aims to inspire others navigating life transitions.
