The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has stated that the Igbo people will not support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The group advised the President to disregard claims of support from individuals it described as self-appointed Igbo political leaders.

MASSOB leader Uchenna Madu made the remarks in response to recent comments by Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who had suggested that the Igbo would rally behind Tinubu in the next general election.

Madu asserted that the Tinubu administration has marginalized the Southeast, failing to address the region’s needs. He added that those pledging support on behalf of Ndigbo do not genuinely represent the sentiments of the people and lack the grassroots influence to translate endorsements into votes.

“The Igbo nation will not support Tinubu’s second-term ambition because his government has brought pain, neglect, and marginalization to our people,” Madu said.

He urged national leaders to engage more deeply with the realities and aspirations of the Southeast rather than rely on political elites who, he claimed, are disconnected from the broader community.

Madu also disclosed that discussions are ongoing within the region on future political strategy and representation as the 2027 election cycle approaches.

He emphasized the growing frustration in the Southeast over what he described as a lack of inclusion in national governance and called for stronger federal attention to the region’s concerns.

“The political discontent within the Southeast is palpable,” Madu concluded. “Ndigbo are demanding genuine recognition, inclusion, and a voice in shaping the future of Nigeria.”
