British Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton made a striking appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, serving as co-chair of the prestigious event. Dressed in a custom ivory ensemble by acclaimed designer Grace Wales Bonner, Hamilton paid tribute to Black heritage and culture in both fashion and message.
His look a tailored suit adorned with cowrie shells and mother-of-pearl buttons was completed with a matching beret and vintage jewelry. Each detail was carefully curated to reflect his African ancestry and the night’s theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style."
Hamilton revealed that the outfit was the result of months of collaboration with designer Grace Wales Bonner and stylist Eric McNeal.
Speaking on the red carpet, the racing star reflected on his journey from purchasing a table to support Black designers in 2021, to now co-chairing one of fashion’s biggest nights alongside Anna Wintour.
“I’m deeply honored,” he said. “This is more than fashion it’s about visibility, history, and making space for Black designers on global stages.”
His moving speech and thoughtful ensemble have drawn widespread praise online, with many applauding his continued efforts to uplift underrepresented voices in the fashion industry.
