President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with Nigeria’s Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The high-level security meeting precedes the President’s scheduled trip to Rome on Saturday, where he is expected to attend the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV, following an official invitation from the Vatican.

In attendance are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, among other top security officials.

While the agenda has not been officially disclosed, the meeting is expected to focus on strategies to address the recent resurgence of insecurity in various parts of the country.

Security chiefs are anticipated to brief the President on current operations and ongoing efforts to restore stability and safety nationwide.
