Music executive Jude Okoye has taken a jab at his brother Peter Okoye, former signee Cynthia Morgan, and other ex-label associates, accusing them of greed and blaming him for their current struggles after parting ways with his platform.
In a pointed Instagram post, Jude alleged that those who once thrived under his guidance became “greedy,” left his label seeking independence, and eventually fell off only to now shift blame for their downturn.
“They all have one thing in common: they were big, influential, and successful when I was shouldering them with my platform until they got greedy and wanted to eat alone,” Jude wrote. “They never complained after leaving. Instead, they bragged about their ‘newfound freedom’ and how they’d make it on their own. Years later, they’re broke and pointing fingers at the same person they left. What manner of madness is that?”
He went on to say that none of them have clearly stated what wrong he allegedly did, and accused them of attempting to use public sentiment and fabricated accusations to blackmail him into submission.
“You can’t sell goods to someone, later demand them back, and still refuse to return the money spent. They attached money laundering and fraud to my name just to get me jailed and broken. But I sat through it for two months. When next they come ranting, ask them what exactly I did that caused their downfall.”
The statement comes amid a long-standing rift between Jude and his brother Peter Okoye, who previously involved the EFCC over alleged financial mismanagement during Jude’s tenure managing PSquare. Cynthia Morgan has also publicly accused Jude of mismanaging her career and finances, claiming his actions forced her out of the music scene.
Jude, however, insists he won’t give in to “bullying or cheap blackmail,” adding that those now seeking sympathy had already “chopped” the money and are only making noise because they’re broke.
