The Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on Youth and Media Mobilization, Hon. Atu Terver Joseph, has suspended his Chief of Staff, Mr. John Ukeyima, and Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Lubem Terkula.

The suspension comes in the wake of their participation in the End Benue Genocide protest, which was organized to demand urgent action and justice over the recent mass killings in the state.

While Hon. Atu has not officially detailed the reasons behind the disciplinary action, sources close to the matter suggest the officials were sanctioned for engaging in the protest without prior approval or clearance from the appropriate government channels.

The protest, which has drawn national attention, was staged by concerned citizens, youth groups, and civil society organizations who accuse the government of inaction and silence amid ongoing violence by suspected armed herdsmen.

The suspensions have sparked mixed reactions, with some viewing them as an attempt to suppress dissent within the administration, while others argue it reflects a need for internal discipline among government aides.

More details to follow.
