American billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has purchased a $4 million waterfront home in the Hamptons not for himself, but for his pregnant daughter, Georgina Bloomberg, as she prepares to welcome her second child.
The 41-year-old equestrian and philanthropist is expecting a baby girl and will soon be settling into a stunning residence in Southampton’s Cold Point Road community, just five minutes from her father’s sprawling Ballyshear estate.
According to The New York Times, the home designed by architect John David Rose and built in 2012 was last listed at $4.29 million. The sale closed for $4 million in an all-cash deal on May 30.
“Michael wants to be close to his grandchildren,” a source close to the family revealed and this purchase ensures exactly that.
While modest in size compared to Bloomberg’s 22,000-square-foot estate, Georgina’s new 3,000-square-foot home boasts refined charm and luxury. Spread across two floors, the home features four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a stone fireplace, expansive bay-view windows, and 100 feet of private waterfront along Cold Spring Pond and Peconic Bay Beach.
The property also offers direct beach access, a private boat dock, community tennis and basketball courts, and a breezy screened-in porch perfect for family living, though it doesn’t include a swimming pool.
Georgina shares a son, Sebastian (born in 2023), with her current partner, financier Justin Waterman. She also has another son, Jasper (born in 2013), from a previous relationship with Argentine Olympic show jumper Ramiro Quintana.
With her due date fast approaching, Georgina recently took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting:
“Two-week countdown begins today. I cannot wait to meet you, baby girl.”
The new home marks both a personal milestone and a touching gesture from a devoted grandfather eager to stay close as the Bloomberg family grows.
