Media personality and former BBNaija housemate, Tacha, has called out online trolls over the controversy surrounding a viral video featuring Nigerian influencer Asherkine and a University of Nigeria (UNN) student identified as Becky.

The drama began when Becky, featured in the viral clip, claimed she had never been in a relationship — a statement reportedly made to secure a date with Asherkine. The claim was later challenged by a man who alleged he had been in a two-year relationship with her. He released what he claimed were chat screenshots between himself and Becky, accusing her of lying and using a trip to visit her mother as a cover-up for meeting Asherkine.

In response, Becky firmly denied the allegations, stating she does not know the individual making the claims and that the name being used online is not even hers.

“I do not know this boy. I’ve never had a boyfriend before, and nothing will change that statement,” she said.

Reacting to the unfolding saga, Tacha posted a video on Instagram criticizing how people twisted what she described as a “harmless moment” into a full-blown scandal.

“The wicked aunties and uncles our parents warned us about are no longer in the village — they’re all on Twitter Nigeria,” she said.

Tacha slammed online users for spreading unverified claims, fabricating chat conversations, and shaming the young woman involved — all for clicks and clout.

“This blew up because the average Nigerian man sees women as gold diggers,” she argued, noting that the public was quick to push a negative narrative without facts.

She also encouraged Becky to pursue legal action and urged the public to stop tearing people down online out of boredom, jealousy, or malice.

“The wicked people our parents warned us about are now online… Twitter influencers, bloggers all of them,” Tacha concluded.
