Rymir Satterthwaite, the 30-year-old man who has long claimed to be the son of rap icon Jay-Z, has officially withdrawn his federal lawsuit against the music mogul.

“I did withdraw my case,” Rymir confirmed in a video posted to Instagram on July 27. He cited undisclosed factors for the decision, saying, “There’s a lot going on behind closed doors.”

However, he insisted that this is not the end of his pursuit for justice. “I have not stopped my fight,” he added. “We got to step back and play chess, not checkers.”

Rymir has maintained for years that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, fathered him during a brief relationship with his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, in the 1990s. His most recent lawsuit, filed in May, accused the billionaire artist of fraud, procedural interference, and using the legal system to suppress his paternity claim.

In response, Jay-Z's legal team fired back with a strongly worded motion filed on June 16. They called the accusations "fabricated" and pointed out that similar claims had already been "addressed and rejected in multiple other courts." The attorneys labeled the federal suit as “just the latest in a decades-long campaign of harassment.”

Moreover, the filing revealed that Jay-Z was allegedly not properly served with the lawsuit and only became aware of its existence a month after it had been filed. His legal team requested more time to evaluate the complaint and prepare an appropriate response.

Rymir clarified that his lawsuit was not an attempt to seek back child support. Instead, he claimed emotional and reputational damages, accusing Jay-Z of obstructing legal proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.

While the case may be paused for now, Rymir made it clear that he intends to continue pressing for recognition and resolution.
