Popular Nigerian car dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, widely known as IVD, has opened up about his turbulent past and personal struggles following the death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, in 2022.

Speaking candidly on The Honest Bunch podcast, IVD made explosive claims about his late wife, describing their marriage as toxic and physically abusive. According to him, Bimbo was “very dramatic” and often resorted to violence—even slapping him in front of clients at his office.

“She was very dramatic. She fought me everywhere. Everyone knows. She once came to my office and gave me a dirty slap for doing absolutely nothing,” he said.

 Ongoing Legal Troubles

Following Bimbo’s tragic death under controversial circumstances, IVD was charged with involuntary manslaughter by the Lagos State Government. He claims that in the wake of her passing, her family launched a smear campaign against him.

“My in-laws paid bloggers to defame me after my wife passed away. They said I was violent and had HIV,” he said.
“I took an HIV test at Evercare Hospital—it came out negative. But they took all our properties and my five children. Till today, I have not set eyes on my kids.”

 Mental Health Struggles and Support from Blessing CEO

In the aftermath of the incident and the media backlash, IVD revealed he hit rock bottom and contemplated suicide. He credits his now fiancée, Blessing CEO, for standing by him during his darkest period.

“Blessing was there for me when I was completely down. I wanted to end it all. She gave me a reason to live again.”

He also shared that his daughter once sent him a voice note begging him to return home during one of Bimbo’s outbursts—a memory that still haunts him.

 A New Chapter with Blessing CEO

IVD and Blessing CEO got engaged in April 2025, and he says he’s now a changed man, fully committed to her. In an emotional part of the interview, he recounted shedding tears while she tried on her wedding gowns.

“I used to be an ashawo boy before, but now I’m fully committed to Blessing. I have never and will never cheat on her.”
“She wore 36 different wedding gowns, and I cried 36 times. I’ve never experienced this kind of peace with any woman.”

IVD added that he and Bimbo were only traditionally married, and he never got to experience the emotional joy of a full wedding ceremony—something Blessing is now giving him.
