Comfort Emmanson, the woman at the centre of the viral Ibom Air incident, has shared her side of the story, expressing pain and trauma over how the situation unfolded and the aftermath she's endured.

In a video posted to her Instagram page (@soft_commy), Emmanson claimed that a flight attendant, identified as Julian Edwards, assaulted her during a Lagos-bound flight from Uyo on August 10. She alleged that Edwards forcibly removed her wig, damaged her phones, tore her clothing, and humiliated her, all stemming from a disagreement over switching off her phone.

According to Emmanson, she had difficulty powering off one of her phones during pre-flight checks, which led to a tense exchange with the crew member. She said the situation escalated upon landing when she tried to disembark but was blocked by the same crew member.

“She dragged my frontal wig, tore my clothes, cut my gold chain and broke my phones. The pain she inflicted on me was unbearable,” Emmanson recounted.

She added that the crew member insulted her, calling her a prostitute, which triggered her reaction. “I wouldn’t have touched an elderly woman if she hadn’t inflicted that pain on me and insulted me that way.”

The real estate consultant also expressed dismay over the viral spread of her nude footage recorded during the altercation, saying it has left her deeply traumatized and ashamed.

“People have made stickers of my body. I don’t know how I’ll face clients or go for job interviews again. My reputation is in shambles, and I’ve not even been able to speak up until now because I was receiving treatment,” she said tearfully.

She ended her statement by clarifying that she never refused to turn off her phone and is not a troublemaker, contrary to how she has been portrayed online.
