President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for official visits to Japan and Brazil, accompanied by key government officials, including ministers and special advisers.

According to presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga, the President will make a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before heading to Yokohama, Japan.

While in Japan, Tinubu will participate in the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), holding from August 20 to 22. He is expected to attend key plenary sessions, hold bilateral meetings, and engage with CEOs of Japanese firms with investments in Nigeria.

Following TICAD9, the President will proceed to Brasília, Brazil, for a two-day state visit from Sunday, August 24 to Monday, August 25, at the invitation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

In Brazil, President Tinubu will meet with his counterpart for bilateral discussions and participate in a business forum with Brazilian investors to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
