Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma, has condemned the release of a video showing alleged unruly Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, in a state of indecent exposure, calling for the person responsible to face legal action.

In an Instagram Story post on Tuesday, Bovi reversed his earlier stance on the incident. A day earlier, he had criticised Emmanson’s behaviour, recommending legal consequences and mental health evaluation, describing her actions as a “manic episode.”

However, after seeing the uncensored video circulating on social media, he said he deleted his initial statement.

“The person who made that video without censoring the lady's exposed body should be made to face the law as well. Lastly, I don’t know the laws, but if an air hostess doesn’t have the right to detain a passenger, then that girl should be released immediately,” he wrote.

Bovi added that being detained by a civilian, such as an air hostess, could easily trigger a volatile reaction in some people.

“That singular act of being detained by a fellow citizen is enough to trigger most people. Again, if it’s not a lawful action, this issue should be thrown away already.
