Popular media personality Toke Makinwa has opened up about her journey to motherhood, describing herself as a hopeless romantic and dismissing claims that she dislikes men.

Her comments follow her recent announcement that she is expecting her first child a moment she calls her greatest life project yet.

In a heartfelt interview, Toke revealed that she had been praying to become a mother before turning 40.

“People think I bash men or hate men  that’s never been the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic,” she said.

“At the beginning of the year, I prayed and told God I wanted to turn 40 as a mum. I turned 40 in November, and in December, I was pregnant. He did it. He didn’t fail. God is never late, He just didn’t do it the way I expected.”

Toke also shared that during a time when people misunderstood her, she was battling depression and kept many things private including the reason behind a public thanksgiving service she once held.

The emotional revelation has sparked widespread praise from fans and fellow celebrities who continue to celebrate her joyous news.
