Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has relieved Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, of her appointment.

The announcement was made on Monday, September 29, 2025, in a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.

According to the statement, the move was part of a “minor adjustment” to the composition of the State Executive Council.

“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab-Baban Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect,” the statement read.

Governor Mohammed thanked the former commissioner for her service to the state and wished her success in her future endeavours.

The development comes shortly after the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission dismissed two senior government officials over alleged forgery.
