The documents, handed to the House Oversight Committee by the Epstein estate, include phone message logs, flight manifests, financial ledgers, and daily schedules.
One entry dated 6 December 2014 reads: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?).” Musk has previously acknowledged that Epstein invited him but insists he declined.
A flight manifest also records that Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, flew with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell from Teterboro, New Jersey, to West Palm Beach, Florida, on 12 May 2000. Maxwell was later convicted in 2021 of conspiring with Epstein to traffic girls for sex. Andrew has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.
A heavily redacted ledger additionally mentions payments for massages linked to an “Andrew” in early 2000, though it is unclear whether this refers to Prince Andrew. Palace records confirm he was in the US around that period.
The files also reference meetings or planned gatherings with other influential figures, including:
-
Peter Thiel — a scheduled lunch in November 2017
-
Steve Bannon — a planned breakfast on 17 February 2019
-
Bill Gates — tentative breakfast plans in December 2014
Gates has previously admitted meeting Epstein, calling it a “mistake.”
Democrats say the records provide critical insight into Epstein’s powerful connections. Committee spokeswoman Sara Guerrero urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to authorize the release of additional files, stating:
“It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world. Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims.”
Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in a New York jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Republicans accused Democrats of politicizing the files but promised to release the full set soon.
