Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, Hilda revealed that while many people had urged her to auction the pot, she believes it carries far deeper meaning.
“Oh, you may not have heard of it. Trust me, so many people have asked about that pot. Some people want to buy it, they said we should auction it,” she said.
Describing the pot as “a symbol of history, faith, and innovation,” Hilda explained that it represents much more than a cooking vessel. Instead of putting it up for sale, her team plans to restore it and make it publicly accessible.
“We’re not going to sell it. We’re going to make sure that as many people as possible get to see it in its glory. You may find it one day in a museum or even on your way to work,” she stated.
Hilda recently added to her Guinness World Record accolades by preparing the largest serving of Nigerian jollof rice, weighing a staggering 8,780kg, further spotlighting Nigeria’s cuisine on the global stage.
