After all day rain I was looking forward to a cool peaceful nights sleep, unlike the restless sweaty night, the night before.
However this was proving to be a challenge as the night; though not as hot as yesterday, was hot laced with a cool breeze from my open windows.
IBEDC announced via social media that there were some technical issues in some Band A locations in Abeokuta, Ibara GRA being one of them. As we speak I haven't had power since early last night. I should've charged all my gadgets; incl my power bank, when I had a chance to do so. Don't play with power in Nigeria, make use of it when they deem it fit to give you power, otherwise Nigeria will happen to you lol 😄
Power is indispensable to a nation's rapid development. This explains the disparity in economic growth & prosperity between Nigeria & Asian comparables.
On my Betta9ja Asian Tour Thailand with a population of just 65m has a GDP of $505bn while Nigeria with a population near 250m has a paltry GDP of $397bn.
It means we are far more unproductive despite our geographical size, endowments & population. Without constant Power Nigeria cannot compete favourably with Asian countries.
Apart from security & education power most be the no.1 priority of PBAT's APC led Govt. When will PBAT & the Hon Min of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu announce the beginning of the construction of 3050mw Mamiblla Dam?
Can somebody in Govt please ansa this critical question. Naija needs power to grow & it needs it fast. Some will argue; justifiably, that power is more a priority than PBAT's Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway.
Knowing I won't have power I made sure to spray the room with insect repellent which stopped the mosquitoes from attacking me as they did previously disturbing my nights sleep.
The night began with praise singing from a nearby church which was nice at first but it went on & on & on, getting louder & louder through the night. Where is Abeokuta Noise Control to save us, we are also among the Godly but we want to sleep.
This Friday Night Vigil, the pastor & congregation made sure God in heaven above & the whole of Ibara GRA heard their prayers. I pray all their prayers are answered, but I want some sleep.
Getting a good night's sleep can prove difficult in Nigeria, the church service eventually came to an end and I thought at last I could sleep in peace. Thanks be to God.
As I rested small, I was woken up again by a clapping sound. I thought have they had started another worship. As my eyes opened still dead in the night the clapping was accompanied by moans & groans, ye, ye, ye, give it to me.
I got up from my bed moving towards the sound now complemented with what was obviously a vibrating bed.
I looked out the window and across in my neighbour's yard the window at the back of the property was open and I realised that was where the noise was coming from.
This love music & pounding went on for a while ending with a resounding climax, lots of giggles, laughter & what I perceive to be joking. Happiness & enjoyment still de in PBAT's Renewed Sege Nigeria lol 😄.
Then there was silence I managed to sleep a little, then I was woken again by more moans, groans & slapping from the same place, as by now I could recognise their voices & rhythm. I prayed, God would allow me to have time to sleep o. They eventually stopped, anoda climax & then I thought ok this one don do o.
Only for the cockrel at dawn to crow, morning has arrived. Sleeping in Nigeria no easy o. Na my experience be that o. What was yours like, how was your night? Please let me know.
