A man has died after being gored during the 10th annual Toro del Gayumbo festival in Ubrique, Spain.
The festival featured two bull runs scheduled at different times. While the first, held at 12:30 p.m., passed without incident, tragedy struck during the second run at 6:30 p.m. when a bull named Mosquetero charged into the crowd.
Footage shows the victim, a middle-aged spectator, attempting to escape by clinging to a building railing before being knocked to the ground and gored.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The fatality underscores the inherent risks of Spain’s traditional bull runs, which frequently result in serious injuries or deaths among both participants and onlookers. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement, but local residents are calling for tighter safety measures at future festivals.
