Speaking on Friday at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Tinubu acknowledged the hardship faced by citizens but stressed that the reforms being implemented will secure a better future.
“I know the times have been hard, but your suffering is not without purpose. The path we are on is already bearing fruits of progress, and I can assure you that we are laying a solid foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future,” Tinubu said.
The President described the newly crowned Olubadan as “a monarch of wisdom, peace, and vision”, adding that his ascension marks “a new era of hope and unity for Ibadanland.”
Tinubu also paid tribute to the former governor’s resilience in public life.
“Kabiyesi Oba Rashidi Ladoja is not only a man of immense experience but one deeply loved by his people. His coronation is both historic and symbolic, and I have no doubt that under his reign Ibadan will witness greater development.”
The President reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with traditional rulers and state governments to strengthen peace, security, and economic revitalisation across Nigeria.
The ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, political figures, and dignitaries, with Ibadan residents describing the event as historic and symbolic for the cultural identity of the city.
