Actress and TV host Whoopi Goldberg has stirred outrage after suggesting that former US President Donald Trump should be removed from office following his controversial speech at the United Nations General Assembly.

Speaking on The View on Wednesday, Goldberg argued that Trump’s remarks were “not presidential” and “not helpful,” claiming many world leaders no longer take him seriously.

According to the New York Post, Goldberg went further, raising the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a president deemed unfit to serve.

“Well, they questioned Biden’s competence. If Biden had acted like this, I would have said, ‘Yeah, take him,’” Goldberg said. “This was not presidential and this was not helpful.”

Her comments immediately set off a wave of criticism online.

“She was curiously silent during the dementia years of 2021–2025,” one critic wrote on X.

Another blasted her take: “Why do we care what she has to say? Clearly she doesn’t understand what the 25th Amendment is. It’s not about disagreeing with the other party.”

Goldberg, a longtime critic of Trump, has previously clashed with conservatives over her political commentary on The View.
