The controversy reignited following a viral video in which Regina Daniels tearfully alleged domestic violence in her marriage, claiming she had been “reduced to nothing” in her husband’s home.
Shortly after, Ned Nwoko issued a public statement accusing the actress of substance abuse, further intensifying the storm online.
Reacting to the situation, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Ugwu took to social media to share a lengthy post analyzing what he described as a “transactional relationship” rather than a true marriage.
According to him, Ned is “obsessed with virginity” while Regina is “obsessed with wealth.” The clergyman argued that both parties got exactly what they wanted and therefore have no reason to complain.
He wrote:
“Between Elder Ned and Baby Gina. Ned is obsessed with virginity. Gina is obsessed with wealth. In an interview with Seun of Channels, Ned revealed that he can’t marry someone who is not a virgin. A non-virgin is a turn-off to his ‘royal’ blood. In a social media video, Gina alluded that she would rather cry in a Lamborghini. A keke broke driver has no chance to her ‘s*xy’ body.
Luckily, Ned met Gina, and Gina met Ned. Ned has wealth — what Gina wants. Gina has virginity — what Ned wants. Their hotspots and Bluetooth were compatible for pairing. Transfers were made. Results were visible: Ned flaunted his offspring, while Gina flaunted her Ferrari and G-Wagon.”
Father Kelvin further stated that their relationship only resembles marriage but isn’t one in the true sense.
“What Gina and Ned had or still have is not marriage. It resembles it, but resemblance does not make it so.They both used the term ‘marriage’ wrongly. If marriage could speak, it would have sued them for abuse of name.”
Drawing a comparison, he likened their union to arranged marriages of convenience in Europe and America, where individuals trade money for citizenship under the guise of love.
He concluded that both Ned and Regina’s union is a mutual transaction, masked as marriage — a setup bound to fail once both parties have obtained what they wanted.
