Businessman Simon Guobadia has asked a Nigerian court to withdraw his sponsorship of former wife and reality star Porsha Williams’ residency permit.
In an affidavit filed at the High Court of Justice in Kaduna State, Guobadia explained that he sponsored Williams’ application for a Nigerian Resident Permit during their marriage. However, following their divorce, he is now seeking to have that sponsorship revoked.
Speaking to TMZ, Guobadia revealed that Nigerian authorities informed him Williams traveled to Lagos in December 2024 using the same residency document issued while they were still married. He stressed that, as her sponsor, he has a duty to terminate the arrangement now that the marriage has ended.
Guobadia also voiced disappointment over Williams’ return to Nigeria for last year’s festive season, insisting she will not be welcomed back this December.
Meanwhile, sources close to Williams say she is unbothered by the move, claiming she has already received offers for a Nigerian passport as well as new sponsorships to secure her residency independently.
