It looks like Sean “Diddy” Combs might be reaching out for help from someone unexpected — U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump has revealed that the hip-hop mogul personally asked him for a presidential pardon following his conviction on two prostitution-related charges.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, October 6, Trump said Diddy is one of several high-profile figures who’ve contacted him seeking clemency.

“A lot of people have asked me for pardons,” Trump said. “I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon.”

So far, Diddy’s team hasn’t commented on Trump’s claim — but the news has already sent social media into overdrive.

Diddy’s Legal Troubles So Far

Just a few days earlier, on Friday, October 3, a U.S. federal court sentenced Diddy to 50 months in prison after being found guilty on two counts related to prostitution.

Judge Arun Subramanian delivered the sentence, which came after Diddy’s September 2024 arrest. He’s been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn ever since.

Even though he’s been handed just over four years, legal experts say Diddy could be released in under three years, thanks to time already served and possible good behavior.

Diddy’s Lawyers Plan to Fight Back

After the sentencing, Diddy’s lawyers told ABC News they’re preparing an appeal, arguing that the judge’s sentence was unfairly harsh and based on allegations that weren’t part of the jury’s guilty verdict.

“The jury made it very clear that they acquitted him of the sex trafficking and RICO charges,” lead attorney Teny Geragos said. “Not guilty means not guilty.”

They also revealed that they’ve requested Diddy be moved to FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison in New Jersey known for its drug rehabilitation program (RDAP) and easier family visit access.

“We want him placed at FCI Fort Dix to allow him to work on rehabilitation and stay close to family,” Geragos added.

What Happens Next?

If approved, Diddy could be transferred to Fort Dix within the next few weeks while his legal team pursues an appeal.

But it’s Trump’s revelation that has everyone talking — especially with his comments coming at a time when he’s hinting at another presidential run.

Whether Diddy actually gets that pardon remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure — this story just added a major political twist to an already dramatic case.
