Nigerian author and social commentator Reno Omokri has stirred mixed reactions online after declaring that the greatest gift a woman can offer her husband is her virginity.

In a recent post, Omokri emphasized the spiritual, emotional, and physical value of virginity in building a strong and lasting marriage, urging young women to remain steadfast and not succumb to peer pressure.

“As long as a woman brings virginity to the table, she does not have to bring anything else physically to make that relationship stable. You, as a man, should bring the rest,” he wrote.

Omokri described virginity as a “mystical connection” that strengthens the bond between husband and wife, adding that moral discipline outweighs social validation.

He cautioned young women against ridicule from peers, referencing the Yoruba term Erin Ika   meaning “mockery without joy.”

“You can be like them in one minute, but they can never be like you in one million light-years,” he added.

The post has since drawn diverse reactions across social media, with many users debating Omokri’s views on purity, gender roles, and modern relationships.
