Bandits have launched yet another attack in Kwara State, abducting at least 11 people, including a pregnant woman, several children, and nursing mothers, in Isapa, a community near Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, barely 24 hours after victims kidnapped during a church service in Eruku were released.

According to Daily Trust, between 20 and 30 armed bandits invaded the community, firing sporadically as they advanced. Residents fled in panic, and an elderly woman was reportedly struck by a stray bullet.

A community leader, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that 11 people were taken, with seven abducted from a single household.

The victims include:

  • Talatu Kabiru (20)

  • Magaji (6)

  • Kande (5)

  • Hadiza (10)

  • Mariam (6)

  • Saima (5)

  • Habibat (housewife)

  • Fatima Yusufu (housewife)

  • Sarah Sunday (22) — pregnant

  • Lami Fidelis (23) — nursing mother

  • Haja Na Allah — nursing mother

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen moved through multiple sections of the community, leaving bullet holes in doors and walls. Spent AK-47 shells were later recovered from various points after the attackers retreated with their captives.

The latest abduction has heightened tension across Isapa and neighbouring settlements, as security agencies and local vigilante groups intensify search-and-rescue operations to track the kidnappers and secure the victims' release.
