Rapper Young Bleed, best known for his 90s classic “How You Do That,” has passed away at the age of 51 after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Born Glenn Clifton Jr., the Baton Rouge, Louisiana native reportedly collapsed in Las Vegas and was hospitalised days before his death on Saturday, November 1st.

His son, Ty’Gee Ramon Clifton, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram video, writing, “RIP to the biggest legend I know.”

Speaking directly to his father’s fans, Ty’Gee said:

“As of November 1st, my dad gained his wings. This is a tough topic for me, but I wanted to clear up the false narratives. My dad didn’t have real health issues—these are just chapters in life. Once he collapsed, he passed from the aneurysm, the bleed to the brain.”

He added that his father had been managing high blood pressure and was taking medication before the tragic incident.

Young Bleed rose to prominence in the 1990s and released nine studio albums during his career. He was also part of the rap collective Concentration Camp and collaborated with artists like C-Loc. His hit “How You Do That” reached number one on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, cementing his legacy as one of Baton Rouge’s finest rap exports.

A GoFundMe page has been created by his mother to help cover medical and funeral expenses, describing the situation as “completely unexpected and devastating.”
