Former militant leader Asari Dokubo has warned that he and others are prepared to resist any U.S. military intervention in Nigeria, saying American soldiers would be met with force if deployed to protect Christians.
In a live Facebook video on [date not specified], Asari said Nigeria would show the world whether it has the weaponry and will to confront foreign troops. “If they come, they will die and be buried on Nigerian soil,” he said, threatening that any troops who act on President Donald Trump’s orders would face deadly resistance.
Asari also rejected claims that only Christians have been targeted in recent violence, arguing instead that more Muslims have been killed since the conflict began. His remarks came amid heightened tensions following U.S. comments about violence against Christians in Nigeria.
