Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has doubled down on claims that Regina Daniels was only 17 years old when she married billionaire politician Ned Nwoko in 2019.

Speaking amid renewed arguments surrounding Regina’s real age, Doris stated confidently that she has seen Regina’s birth certificate, which confirms that the actress was indeed a teenager at the time of her marriage.

According to Doris,who is a close friend of Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, only a mother can truly know her daughter’s age.

“Regina is 24 now, and I’ve seen her birth certificate myself. Only her mother can tell her true age,” Doris said.

The debate over Regina’s age has lingered for years. Back in 2019, Rita Daniels told the public that her daughter was 18 when she married Ned. In a 2020 BBC interview, she further claimed Regina was “about to turn 20” in October of that year.

However, Regina’s father, Jude Ojeogwu, had publicly opposed the marriage in 2019, insisting that his daughter was only 17 at the time.

Now that Regina has confirmed that her marriage to Ned has hit the rocks, she too has stated that she was 17 when they got married, a claim actress Mercy Johnson has also supported.

The ongoing revelations continue to stir conversations online about age, consent, and celebrity marriages in Nigeria.
