Nigerian superstar Olamide has shared a thoughtful response following online backlash after he referred to Wizkid as the greatest Afrobeats artiste after Fela Kuti.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Olamide addressed the ongoing fan wars involving Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, urging fans to stop the constant comparisons and rivalries. He made it clear that every artiste has carved their own path and achieved greatness in their own right.
Olamide wrote:
“Honestly, this whole length 3-way conversation is pretty much whatever. You can’t diminish anyone’s greatness, whether they’re A-list, B-list, or anything else. Feel free to believe what you want or support whoever you choose—there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.”
He further noted that the three megastars themselves are too mature and focused on their craft to be bothered by fan-instigated drama.
“One thing to remember is that Burna, David, and Wiz aren’t narrow-minded enough to get offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That’s part of why they’ve reached where they are today.”
