The death of actress and filmmaker Allwell Ademola has triggered a heated clash between her family and members of the Nollywood community.

Following Allwell’s passing on December 27, 2025, her brother released a viral video calling out several industry figures, accusing them of showing “fake love” after her death while allegedly neglecting her when she was alive.

In the emotional video, he singled out popular stars including Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji, questioning why they were quick to post tributes online despite, according to him, failing to support Allwell’s career, especially her cinema projects.

“You people should stop posting my sister. You don’t even know her age. She’s not 43. You never honoured her when she was alive. Everybody is posting ‘rest in peace,’ but how many of you supported her when she was alive? All of you A-list artistes didn’t use her in your cinema movies. Did you ever promote any of her films?” he said.

He also reminded the industry that Allwell had opened her family home to many actors during their struggling years.

Reacting to the accusations, Iyabo Ojo firmly defended herself, stating that she did more than enough to support the late actress, both professionally and personally.

“I oversupported your sister when she was alive. When she was building her career as a producer and director, I featured in her movies countless times for free. I also supported her financially and emotionally. May her beautiful soul continue to rest in perfect peace,” she wrote.

The exchange has since stirred intense reactions online, with many Nollywood insiders and fans weighing in on the debate over support, recognition, and loyalty within the industry.
