Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has surprised fans by revealing that he has never rewatched Titanic, the most iconic film of his 35-year acting career.
The 51-year-old actor famously played Jack Dawson in James Cameron’s 1997 romantic disaster epic, which became a global phenomenon, grossing $2.264 billion from a $200 million budget and winning 11 Academy Awards.
Speaking during Variety’s Actors on Actors conversation with Jennifer Lawrence on Wednesday, December 17, DiCaprio was asked if he had ever rewatched the film.
“No, I haven’t seen it in forever,” he replied. When Lawrence suggested he should revisit it, DiCaprio laughed and added, “I don’t really watch my films, do you?”
Lawrence responded with her own humorous confession, saying she generally avoids watching her work too — except once.
“I’ve never made something like Titanic. If I did, I would watch it,” she said. “Once I was really drunk, I put on American Hustle. I was like, ‘I wonder if I’m good at acting?’ I put it on, and I don’t remember what the answer is.”
Titanic, which also starred Kate Winslet, remains one of the most successful and culturally impactful films in cinema history, even decades after its release.
