Media personality Tomama, popularly known as Dat Warri Girl, has shared a story about how her mother’s first husband fared in his long search for a male child.
According to Tomama, her mother was abandoned by her first husband after giving birth to only daughters. The man went on to remarry, but his second wife also bore only girls. Unsatisfied, he continued marrying, with each union resulting in daughters, until his seventh marriage, where he finally welcomed a son.
However, the story took a dramatic turn when the son recently attempted to travel abroad and underwent a DNA test, which reportedly showed that he was not the biological child of the man.
Reacting to the situation, Tomama laughed at her mother’s former husband’s predicament, noting that her mother later remarried and went on to have three sons.
Actor and media personality Uti Nwachukwu weighed in on the issue, using the opportunity to address long-held beliefs about gender preference.
“Plenty men no know say the things wey dem dey blame women for na dem be the cause. Gone are those days,” he wrote.
He added that science has shown that factors such as sperm quality play a major role in foetal development, including gender determination, rather than blaming women’s age, womb, or ovaries.
Uti also condemned gender preference, stating that anyone who prioritises one gender over another does not deserve peace after mistreating others.
Tomama’s full narration can be heard in the video shared online.
